Child labor laws don't apply to your own kids

We had a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. First sunny Memorial Day that I remember here in Oregon. We used the time to get some home projects done before going to the coast on Monday.

First we (and by we I mean Chris, Erika and Sasha) cleaned the deck of tree debris and washed the deck loungers while Bruce, Sarah and I picked supplies up from Home Depot. Then it was time to tackle the deck furniture.

First there was sanding...

and then there was staining...

and then there was fooling around...

We also live in a poorly lit, smoky, not ventilated shack where we will remain until the age of 18 because our parents sold us into bondage for a beer and 15 dollars. They had already drunk 5 beers each at the time of this bargain. Btw, the pics do NOT do my justice- any of us for that matter.

Sounds like your parents made a GREAT deal....In this economy 15 dollars and a beer each for 4 kids is perfect....

That is what our parents thought too.
