I'm trying not to get too worked up until everything's moving forward smoothly, but it SO HARD not to be excited. After much planning (on Bruce's part), we found a house we both like, made an offer July 12th, had counteroffer, countered the counter, had counter accepted, made it thru inspection, and are waiting for final documents we need to get resolved and completed (which has been going less than smoothly causing much angst) so we can close by the end of the month.
This house has so many things we wanted: around Devil's lake, walking to lots of stuff: beach, state park, pizza place, community center, room for all the kids. It has a fireplace, a view, a dock (yeah!), great light, happy vibe. After the inspection Friday, the neighbors came over to introduce themselves. The woman (Kimberly), took a look at my casual attire (no make-up and flip-flops), said "You're dressed like me - welcome to the neighborhood!" and gave me a big hug. They invited us over for a glass of wine and we heard about how they loved the neighborhood (they've lived there for 22 years). This just solidified this place for us.
Here's some details...
