I got a picture message today from Sarah. It took me a few minutes to decipher. It was taken in a school bus from a seat opposite and one behind the obvious object of the picture. It was the picture of a girl looking forward and next to her (I could only see the back of the head) was a boy that looked suspiciously like Chris.
"Eee girl?"* I asked. (After several months of hounding, we finally got Chris to admit he might like a girl at school. Sarah promised a picture.)
"Yes. Let me get a better picture." Another picture arrived in a few minutes. "There. She usually looks better than that. Her chin looks bigger in this picture than normal."
A few minutes later: "But something's wrong. She's sitting looking forward and Chris has his ear buds in ignoring her and they're not talking."
"They're sitting next to each other on the bus. Isn't that 9th grade dating?"
"No." Sarah corrected me. "9th grade dating is making out passionately in the school parking lot and pretending to be embarrassed about it."
"Oh. Give me some good speculation about what could have happened." I asked.
"Well, maybe Chris said that he thought the movie was a date and she doesn't like him and now it's just very awkward."
"Bummer. That sucks." I replied, being thankful that high school days are way behind me.
A few minutes later I got another text from Sarah. "Never mind. That girl must be Eee girl's twin sister or something because it's not her but she really looks a LOT like her... I'm a dork."
