Last night we made beef and vegetable stew for dinner. Beef, potatoes, carrots, celery, turnips and beets. Sasha said she didn't like the beets. "They taste like dirt."
"How do you know what dirt tastes like?" we asked.
Erika said, "Dirt tastes like the mini potatoes in the pantry."
"You ate those?"
"Yes. We thought they were candy so we ate one. After Sasha and I ate the first one we thought we just got a bad one, so we ate another one. When we went to try the third one we noticed the bag said "mini potatoes" on it. They tasted like dirt."
Since when would we keep candy on the bottom shelf of the pantry? Apparently not even raw potatoes that taste like dirt are safe down there.

Well, the potatoes came in three colors. But yah, slow learning process that day lol
I laugh only because I did the same thing with salt bowl with I was a kid. White = sugar...at least, that's what I thought. I still cringe when I think about the small spoonful I downed before I realized my mistake. :-)
